Akil Fletcher is a Ph.D. student at the University of California Irvine studying the manifestation and expression of race online. Specifically, Fletcher researches the navigation of black people online within gaming spaces to try and understand how individuals make sense and respond to the various difficulties of gaming in a spaced often assumed to be white and Asian.
