The Global Petrochemical Map

"The Global Petrochemical Map is a global, collaborative project that seeks to make petrochemical connections around the globe visible, showing the commonalities and differences in communities who live and work close to industrial sites. Drawing on research conducted for the European Research Council-funded Toxic Expertise project, we map cases around the globe of major petrochemical sites, local communities, community and labour mobilisations, and details of emissions, environmental and safety records, photos, and media reports.

We invite anyone who lives, works, or cares about a petrochemical company, area, or community, anywhere in the world, to contribute to our collaborative map. You can add your stories or experiences, or contribute to cases that we have not yet described. Our aim is to build a collective resource to share data, experiences, stories, and campaigns, about the common challenges and strategies for working and living more equitably alongside — or in some cases without — the petrochemical industry."
